King County Board of Health seeks health professional members

KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON - The King County Board of Health is accepting applications for three health professional positions. The 14-member Board is composed of 11 elected officials and 3 health professionals, and the members who are health professionals are selected by the other members of the Board.

The King County Board of Health is a regulatory and policy body that exists pursuant to state law. It assures local implementation of state public health statutes, enacts local public health rules and regulations, provides for the control and prevention of infectious disease, and establishes fee schedules for licenses and permits, among other duties.

The deadline for applying is October 25, 2002.

The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
