KING COUNTY, WA - Effective Monday, December 11, Environmental Health Services will be opening a new site to provide services within the city of Seattle as well as provide selected permitting and licensing services countywide.
This single site replaces two separate offices -- North Environmental Health on 10501 Meridian Avenue N. and Central Environmental Health on 20th Avenue. These Environmental Health offices close with the opening of the new unified site.
"This change allows our Environmental Health program to provide services to Seattle and King County residents in a more efficient manner," said Dr. Alonzo Plough, Director of Public Health - Seattle & King County.
Effective Monday, December 11, the new unified location will be:

The following Environmental Health programs and services will be available at the new location:
Food Protection Program for Food Establishments
- City of Seattle food establishment plan review
- Permits & licenses for permanent and temporary food establishments
- Food inspectors for all Seattle permanent and temporary food establishments
Meat, Fish, Rabbit, Aquatic & Poultry Permits
- Retail outlet permits
- Meat Cutter's licenses
- Meat Wrapper's permits
Swimming Pools & Schools
- Pool Plan Review for Seattle & pool permits for all Seattle & King County jurisdictions
- School Safety Plan Review & inspections in Seattle
As an additional change, permits and licenses for On-Site Sewage Systems and Plumbing and Gas Piping will be offered exclusively at the following locations as of December 11:
