Resolution No. 00-302 Recommending Elimination of Violent Video Games from Publicly Owned or Operated Facilities in King County (Action Item) (The Board will consider a resolution, proposed by Chair Greg Nickels, that recommends the elimination of violent video games from publicly owned or operated facilities in King County. The Board will hear from a panel that will include Pam Eakes, President of Mothers Against Violence in America, State Representative Mary Lou Dickerson, and Gloria DeGaetano, co-author of Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill: A Call to Action Against TV, Movie, and Video Game Violence.) |

Budget Policy Workshop Continued Policy Options for Meeting Public Health Standards and Community Needs for Public Health Nursing Services (In a continuation of the budget policy workshop began at its February meeting, the Board will engage in the first of three discussions focusing on public health program areas in which the decline in or absence of flexible local funding adversely affects program capacity. This first discussion will focus on public health nursing. The subsequent discussions will address communicable disease outbreak control work in the field, and chronic disease prevention and healthy aging and will be held in April and May, respectively.) |
