Don't let that dissuade you from using the website; there are still find many worthwhile resources on HealthLinks that are not restricted. If you are planning to search PubMed, use the link on HealthLinks to connect. You will find that when you run a search there, the results will indicate the number of citations that are "UW Available." If you go to the "Display Settings" drop down menu near the top, right side of the search results webpage and select "Abstract", you can browse your results in abstract form and see if they are available online through UW, the publisher, and/or PubMed Central (PubMed's open access/free e-journals).
