The North Bellevue Community Center (NBCC) is the major focal point for a comprehensive array of programs and services for Bellevue's aging population. We work in partnership with older adults in the community to maintain their independence, health and sense of self-worth by providing resources, referrals, social and physical activities and lifelong learning opportunities. All programs and services are available to adults of all ages based on ability and interest rather than age.

NBCC is again partnering with King County EMS to bring you the The ShapeUp Campaign. The $10 discount coupon has been extended and may be used for new participants or to sign up for a new class. Participants must be over 50 years of age. Classes eligible for the $10 discount coupon include all fitness/wellness classes, such as Enhance Fitness, Zumba, Yoga, Tap, Swing Dance, Tai Chi, Line Dance, and Chair Yoga. The South Bellevue Community Center (SBCC), in partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue, is designed to be "a partnership for a healthy community" and a place where you can make improvements to how you live your life.

With an overarching theme of health and wellness, SBCC's comprehensive programs include group fitness classes, solo cardio/strength workouts and drop-in sports and recreational activities for all ages. Take advantage of opportunities to train one-on-one with fitness staff, schedule a personal fitness assessment and register for a variety of wellness programs including classes and workshops on nutrition, weight loss and stress management. Participate in social and recreational classes, programs and special events for older adults and pre-school ages. Sign your school-age child up for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue after-school program, Project Learn, or have your teen drop in at the teen late-night program, Latitude Lounge.

The Burien Senior Program provides social, health, educational, and recreational services for older adults in the greater Burien / Highline area. We offer annual membership which entitles you to a newsletter mailed to your home every 2 months and a discounted fee on some of our classes. Read the January-February newsletter for the most current information.

The ShapeUp Campaign (50+) is back for another year, with some added features. The $10 discount coupon is being continued for new participants and/or new classes. The menu of classes have been expanded to include all continuous movement classes, such as Hula, Ballroom Dance, Belly Dance, Tap Dance, Pilates, Boot Camp and the various Yoga classes.

Look through the recreation brochure or senior newsletter to find classes marked with the logo that are eligible for the $10 discount coupon. Sno-Valley Senior Center is a vibrant community center serving the 50 plus crowd and those who love them. We offer low-cost, high quality health and wellness activities, share many tasty homemade meals, educate and inspire through classes and trips. Our more frail and elderly are served through our structured day program, which often diverts them from entering nursing homes and allows their family to continue caring for them in their own homes. A not-for-profit, Sno-Valley Senior Center relies on a veritable army of 250 plus volunteers contributing over 22,000 hours to serve one quarter of adults over 50 in the lower Snoqualmie Valley.
