Dead bird surveillance

This map reflects the cumulative number of dead birds sighted in King County and reported to Public Health - Seattle & King County from January 1, 2008 through October 31, 2008. As of October 31, 1552 dead birds were reported (1512 could be mapped) and 71 selected for laboratory testing to monitor for the presence of West Nile virus in the county. To date, three dead birds have tested positive for West Nile virus; the birds were found dead on 9/14/2008, 9/24/2008, and 10/16/2008.
