Dead bird surveillance This map reflects the cumulative number of dead birds sighted in King County and reported to Public Health - Seattle & King County from January 1, 2008 through October 31, 2008. As of October 31, 1552 dead birds were reported (1512 could be mapped) and 71 selected for laboratory testing to monitor for the presence of West Nile virus in the county. To date, three dead birds have tested positive for West Nile virus; the birds were found dead on 9/14/2008, 9/24/2008, and 10/16/2008.

- 2007 historical map: This map reflects the cumulative number of dead birds sighted in King County and reported to Public Health - Seattle & King County from January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. No West Nile virus was detected in King County in 2007.
- 2006 historical map: This map shows the location of the six dead birds and one horse with West Nile virus in 2006; these cases all occurred in early October. This map also reflects the cumulative number of dead birds sighted in King County and reported to Public Health - Seattle & King County from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006.
