Seattle & King County:

In 2007, no cases of West Nile virus were reported in Seattle or King County. Laboratory testing for the virus in 2007 was conducted as follows:

Washington State:

Summary of 2006 West Nile virus activity

Seattle:

Three crows infected with West Nile virus were identified in Seattle. These birds died in the month of October and were found in Magnolia (1), Broadview/Blueridge (1) and Laurelhurst (1).

King County (outside Seattle):

Two crows, one hawk, and one horse infected with West Nile virus were identified in King County. These animals died in the month of October and were found in Bellevue (1 hawk), Kent (2 crows), and Ravensdale/Maple Valley (1 horse).
