Tire disposal and recycling
Tires are not considered hazardous waste and are not accepted at the hazardous waste drop-off sites. Instead, take them to your nearest Transfer Station:
- City of Seattle Recycling and Disposal Stations
Both Seattle transfer stations accept up to 4 tires per visit. Call the Seattle Public utilities at 206-684-3000 for rates and details. For Seattle residents only.
- King County Solid Waste Disposal Stations
Transfer stations accept up to 4 tires per visit. Call 206-296-4466 for details or use the link above. For King County Solid Waste customers only.
- Some recycling events accept tires. Contact King County Solid Waste Recycling at 206-296-4466 for special collection event information or visit their website.
- Some companies take tires for recycling as listed on the following King County Solid Waste Division sites:
