Televisions and computer monitors

Television screens and computer monitors use Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) which contain lead that is hazardous.

• In Seattle and King County, televisions cannot be disposed of in the garbage, at a transfer station or a household hazardous waste facility. Visit www.metrokc.gov/dnrp/swd/electronics/index.asp for businesses that recycle televisions in your area.
  
• A number of King County Suburban Cities collect televisions and computers for a fee at their spring and/or fall recycling events.
