Walk-in clinic for STD evaluation/treatment and HIV testing

Registration opens at 7:45 am. If you need to be seen later than 4 p.m. please talk to our staff to make sure we are still accepting patients for the day. Public Health - Seattle & King County (Public Health) provides testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV in accordance with local and national guidelines. The Public Health STD Clinic at Harborview provides medical services for payment based on a sliding scale. Low income persons are charged a minimum fee of $15, but no person will be denied services because of inability to pay. Fees will be discussed with the provider seen. The STD Clinic routinely tests persons aged 24 and under for:
- gonorrhea
- chlamydia
- syphilis
- HIV
Older persons are tested based on their risks and STD symptoms. All persons seen at the STD Clinic are also offered a blood test for herpes simplex virus-2 (HSV-2), the most common cause of genital herpes. All persons wishing HSV-2 testing will be charged $30 for the test; the clinic cannot provide the blood test at no cost. Persons with herpes-like sores can have the sores tested at no cost. Only the STD Clinic at Harborview provides blood tests for HSV-2.
