Motivational Interviewing: Helping People Change
Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence.

Kathy Silverman is a Health Educator with the HIV/AIDS Program. She trains on HIV/AIDS, counseling skills, crisis and suicide assessment and intervention, harm reduction, and behavior change. Kathy is also a WA State HIV Prevention Counseling Trainer.
NOTE: This workshop requires in-person attendance in Seattle, WA. This is not a web-based course. Based on multiple queries, we also do not offer scholarships nor funding of any kind. Alternative PDF version of the brochure and order form. Each workshop includes: 2 days of blended theory, discussion and hands-on practice of core MI skills.

9:00 am - 4:30 pm each day.
Attendance on both days is required to ensure learning continuity and to receive a certificate of completion.

13 CE hours are offered for this workshop. Public Health - Seattle & King County is approved to provide CE credits by the WA State Department of Health and the WA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Criteria for registration

Priority will be given to individuals whose work focuses on: People at high risk for HIV or other sexually
Transmitted diseases -or-
Individuals whose work focuses on people living with HIV
If you do not meet these priorities you may enroll on a space available basis.We will finalize enrollment one week prior to the training date.

You are not registered until payment is received. Workshops are limited to 20 persons and fill quickly. Early registration is encouraged!
Refunds are available only for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to your confirmed workshop. The full fee will be charged for all late cancellations and "no shows."
