Asthma facts, guidelines and educational materials
In Seattle and King County, 133,700 adults and 23,000 children have asthma. Asthma is the cause of 100 million days of limited activity for adults and children throughout the United States. In King County, asthma is the second most common reason for children to be admitted to the hospital.
Public Health - Seattle & King County is proud to provide this Web site as a resource for members of the public who are trying to educate themselves about asthma and for professionals who are trying to improve the management of their patients with asthma.

King County asthma-related programs and projects | Public Health - Seattle & King County works with community partners to help children with asthma get the health care and resources they need to live healthy lives. Public Health also works with community partners to improve home and indoor living conditions and outdoor air quality so children with asthma have fewer problems with their asthma.

A demonstration project to reduce exposure to indoor asthma triggers among 260 low-income households for children with asthma.

Medicaid Assisted Program for Children (MAP)
A pilot project that is designed to provide home visits by community health workers to low-income ethnically diverse families who have children with asthma, ages 0-17 years.
