Juvenile Justice Mental Health Liaisons

Juvenile Justice King County Mental Health Plan (KCMHP) funds two full time liaison positions to help meet the mental health needs of youth within the juvenile justice system. The Juvenile Justice Liaisons assist detention and juvenile probation staff in identifying youth who are enrolled in the KCMHP or who are eligible for mental health services under the Plan.

If a youth is currently enrolled, the liaison will assist in coordination with the outpatient provider agency. If a youth is eligible for services but is not enrolled, the liaison will assist the youth in completing any necessary paperwork and link that youth with outpatient services upon release.

For youth who are not eligible for public mental health services, the liaison will work with the youth and family to identify alternative resources and assist with securing community services and supports when possible.
