- About 80% of people served have been enrolled in Medicaid during the year. Nearly all Medicaid-enrolled individuals are seen in ongoing outpatient services, while nearly all non-Medicaid are only seen in non-outpatient crisis services.
- Of ethnic minority groups, only Asian/Pacific Islander adults continue to be below their proportion in the larger King County population (parity <1).
- Tier distribution continues to shift toward 3A benefits, with more than 80% of people receiving services currently under this benefit level.
- Residential supervised living bed days decreased by 22% as the RSN has begun an increase in supported housing beds.
- Voluntary inpatient admissions continue to decline for adults but have increased for children compared with 2006, while involuntary inpatient admissions increased for both children and adults. Use of Western State Hospital was at the target which was revised July, 2007.
- Over the last year there have been small but steady improvements in the rates of clients obtaining paid employment, housing homeless individuals, and reducing incarcerations. An area for continued improvement is ensuring that individuals are provided outpatient services rapidly following discharge from hospitals and jails. This issue is currently the focus of a performance improvement project.
