Points of interest include:

  • Number of people served continues to increase while hours of service per client decrease.
  • More than 90% of people served are enrolled in Medicaid and the proportion of non-Medicaid individuals served continues to decline.
  • Tier distribution continues to shift toward 3A benefits, which increases the expenditure of outpatient funds.
  • Symptoms and functioning are improved for over three-quarters of clients by the end of their benefit period.
  • Both juvenile and adult voluntary inpatient admissions continue to decline.
  • We continue to be over our target census at Western State Hospital, however financial penalties have been discontinued as of June 2005 and a new bed allocation will be determined by July, 2006.
