Advocacy and Leadership in the Early Intervention System Consider becoming involved in improving the EI System. One way for you to advocate for the betterment of the EI System in King County is to join the King County Interagency Coordinating Council (KCICC). The King County EI System is part of a statewide system of EI services directed by the Department of Social and Health Services, Infant Toddler Early Intervention Program (ITEIP). Every county has a Local Lead Agency that is responsible for coordinating its EI system and each lead agency has an advisory board called an KCICC. In King County, the Local Lead Agency is the KCDDD and the advisory board for EI services is the KCICC. The KCICC is a standing committee of the KCDDD. The KCICC advises and assists KCDDD with planning and coordinating services at the community level. Council members are parents, service providers, school district representatives, medical providers, health department representatives, and other representatives of other public and private agencies. For more information about KCICC and becoming a member, please contact Jan Wrathall, Program Manager |
