Rod Brandon is the Director of Environment and Sustainability for King County. He serves as the Executive's lead for major land acquisition and housing developments and ensures that negotiations for major land acquisitions reflect county executive direction, in addition to communicating the county's goals, concerns and issues to county staff, landowners, acquisition partners, and other interested stakeholders.  Rod also serves as a representative for the county on major environmental issues such as the Duwamish Super Fund Clean-up site, working with representatives for regional and federal governments agencies including EPA and DOE.  Rod earned a BS from the University of Montana in Business Administration/Management and attended the Executive Program at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

Ramona Brooks is the Receptionist for the King County Executive office and provides the first point of contact for visitors to the office, as well as King County staff.  Ramona is also responsible for preparing, distributing and managing an electronic news clips database for the Executive, in coordination with Community Relations and Communications staff.  Before coming to the Executive Office in 2006, she honed her communication skills, poise, tact and diplomacy during a 15-year career with the City of Seattle as an Administrative Specialist.

Nori Catabay is the Housing and Sustainability Coordinator for the King County Executive office. In this role she coordinates current county housing initiatives such as special needs housing, ending homelessness, and increasing affordable workforce housing. Nori serves as liaison to a variety of partners in the housing industry, from private and non-profit developers, housing advocates and policy makers, building trade and builders associations, to government agencies and private financial entities. Her primary role has been carrying out the Executive housing initiatives that use new and innovative efforts that encourage healthy and safe living communities. She earned a BA from University of Washington in American Ethnic Studies with a concentration in Asian American Studies.

Maya Dietz is an Executive Fellow. She supports the Climate Change and Equity and Social Justice Initiatives, as a policy analyst and program manager. Maya joined the Executive’s Office after serving six years as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State. She earned a BA from Williams College in Political Science, and two Masters from the University of Washington, one in Public Affairs and one in International Studies.

Carolyn Duncan is the Communications Director for the King County Executive. She is responsible for effective communication with citizens about the value of services provided to them, Executive initiatiatives and priorities, including media relations, content of the county's Web site and the use of social media. She earned a BA from the University of Washington in Broadcast Journalism and spent 15 years working in the broadcast industry where she earned numerous awards including a National Public Radio News Director Award.

Tim Flynn is the Director of Intergovernmental Relations.  He is responsible for managing King County’s relationship with the state of Washington, Seattle, suburban cities and tribes.  He oversees our lobbying during the legislative session in Olympia and is the point of contact for the Governor’s office.  Prior to joining the county, he worked as a public affairs consultant, ran numerous political campaigns and served in the White House Office of Political Affairs.  Tim earned a BS from the University of Santa Clara and a JD from Lincoln University.

Esther Handy is an Executive Fellow, who joined in the Executive Office in 2008 after completing a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University, where she concentrated in social policy and public leadership.  Esther provides support for the Equity and Social Justice Initiative including facilitating the Initiative’s strategic planning process. She also has a degree from Wellesley in Psychology and Latin American Studies.

Shelley Harrison is an office assistant who has been with the county for 20 years.  She helps move legislation to council, averaging 200 pieces a year.  She also keeps the central files and helps the correspondence secretary move incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Roycee Hasuko is the Executive Operations Liaison, reporting to Sheryl Whitney, Assistant County Executive. In addition to handling Ms. Whitney’s calendar, Roycee represents/staffs her and the Executive on county efforts related to the Executive’s Equity and Social Justice and Rural Services Initiatives, the county’s Project Review Board (which reviews county IT projects), and the Mental Illness and Drug Dependency (MIDD) fund. Roycee has a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. She is a member of the Washington State Bar and a mediator for the King County Alternative Dispute Resolution Program and Seattle Federal Executive Board.

Doug Hodson is the Transportation Manager for the King County Executive. He serves as a liaison between King County’s Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Executive and is responsible for strategic policy advice and government relations on a variety of transportation issues. Prior to working in the Executive's Office, Doug performed government relations work for King County DOT and served as a policy analyst for the King County Council. Doug earned a BA in Political Science from Western Washington University and Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Affairs.

Lee Anne Hughes is the Executive Assistant to County Executive Kurt Triplett. Natasha Jones is Deputy Communications Director for the King County Executive. She helps King County communicate about its services to residents and employees by coordinating internal communications, public relations, media relations, and the Executive Office web and social media efforts. She has prior communications experience with two other government agencies and spent nearly a decade in TV News as an assignment editor, writer, producer, reporter and anchor. She received her BA from Pomona College in English and Media Studies and her MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.

Ayesha Kelly serves as a Community Relations Specialist and liaison to the African American Community for King County’s Executive Office. She provides outreach and relationship-building with numerous community organizations on behalf of King County Executive Kurt Triplett including representing Mr. Triplett as needed at community events. Ayesha also serves as Chair of King County’s Annual Heart Walk, where she is responsible for helping to recruit some of King County's 17,000+ employees to walk and fundraise for this nationally recognized event. Ayesha also serves on King County's Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee and the Earth Heroes at Schools Awards Committee. She has worked for King County for nearly a decade, including previous positions with King County’s Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention and Department of Transportation.

Kelly Kurtz is the Executive Assistant to Noel Treat, Chief of Staff. She has been with the King County Executive Office since 2004. Kelly is responsible for keeping the Chief of Staff’s calendar and assisting him in his daily responsibilities. She also processes the Executive’s event invitations and works on various special projects in support of the Executive Office. Prior to joining the Executive Office Kelly worked for Corbis as a customer tech support staffer.

Cheeketa Mabone has worked for the county for 10 years in the Community Relations Department. During her tenure, Cheeketa’s responsibilities have included serving as Administrative Assistant for the Community Relations staff, assisting with collecting, formatting and preparing the King County Executive's daily briefing materials, planning outreach opportunities, and serving as a liaison to the community. She also serves as the Co-Lead on the Paul Robeson Scholar-Athlete Awards Program which receives over 4,000+ applications per year.

As a community relations specialist, Mauricio Martinez works on behalf of the County Executive in helping our county become a welcoming place for the region’s growing immigrant population. Mauricio’s works includes issues and projects related to outreach to Latino residents and other underrepresented populations in our county. He serves as Liaison to the Executive and the Latino community, expanding relationships with community stakeholders and providing briefings on issues affecting the Latino community in King County. Previously, Mauricio worked as part of the coordinating team for the Two Thousand Days to Excel Campaign – a children of color initiative for King County. Mauricio also serves as a back up for producing Executive proclamations and responding to constituent correspondence.

Lorrie McKay is State Relations Manager on the Executive’s Intergovernmental Relations team. She is responsible for compiling King County's State Legislative Agenda, working with representatives from all executive branch departments and separately elected county agencies. Working with a team of inter-agency legislative liaisons and the county's lobbyists, she is responsible for tracking the county's legislative priorities and interests and coordinating testimony and information as necessary. Lorrie has served the Executive's Office since 1997 in a variety of capacities including working for the Executive's public outreach & communication division; serving as the communications coordinator and Web master for Office of Regional Policy & Planning; serving as the Chief of Staff's administrative assistant; and working as part of a team to keep a key eastside rail corridor in public ownership. Lorrie grew up in Bellevue and earned a degree in Public Administration from Western Washington University in 1987.

Kathleen Oglesby is Labor Liaison to the King County Executive, a position she began 12 years ago in the office of former County Executive Ron Sims. She is responsible for maintaining relationships with organized labor both those representing the counties 30 unions as well as the unions representing all other unionized employees in businesses in King County. She also oversees all labor relations within King County where 85% of our employees are represented. She is a certified mediator and spent almost 25 years as a union organizer and negotiator.

Rosa Orams has been with King County government since October 1996. She currently serves in an administrative position handling accounts payable, budget, human resources, and payroll among other duties for the Executive Office.  She was previously Executive Assistant for the Assistant County Executive.  Before coming to King County, Rosa was the Administrative Assistant for the Seattle School Board for five years and Confidential Secretary for the Human Resources Management Director for eight years.  Rosa holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

De’Sean Quinn is the Regional and Local Affairs Director for the King County Executive. He is responsible for managing regional and local affairs on behalf of the King County Executive and helping to connect county residents and elected officials to the services of King County. Previously, he served as Council Relations Director for the Executive Office and has helped run a number of local election campaigns. De’Sean attended Morehouse College in Atlanta GA and earned his BA in Political Science from the University of Washington.  He is also currently a City Councilmember from the City of Tukwila.

Rachel Quinn is the Health Policy Liaison and Policy Advisor. In this role she coordinates Executive Triplett's health care initiatives and priorities such as the Puget Sound Health Alliance, King County's Health Reform Initiative, and the Children's Health Initiative. Her work involves working directly with Public Health - Seattle & King County, community stakeholders, the state and federal governments. Prior to joining the Executive Office as an Executive Fellow in 2004, she conducted research on child health issues and worked for a health services research and consulting firm in Washington, DC. She earned a dual Master's in Public Policy and Public Health from the University of Michigan and a BA from the University of Vermont in Political Science.

Bob Zappone is the Council Relations Director for the Executive Office. His previous position as Representative for the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters was the culmination of more than two decades as a full-time trade unionist representing the members as a labor negotiator, mediator and coalition-builder, and as a union leader, including a stint as the President of the Seattle Building and Construction Trades Council in 2000. Before that, Bob’s carpentry apprenticeship led to a 13-year career as a journeyman carpenter, working primarily on commercial buildings in Seattle. Bob has extensive mediation and negotiation training and has led collective bargaining negotiations and administered collective bargaining agreements for thousands of carpenters in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
