Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest

For a number of years, the King County Civil Rights Commission sponsored an essay contest for eighth grade students attending public and private schools in King County. The purpose of the essay contest was to encourage middle and junior high school students to think critically about Dr. King's legacy of peace and justice. The essays focus on a theme that comes from Dr. King's speeches or writings.
