South King County Projects

Infiltration and inflow control project (Skyway)

During 2011 King County will construct an initial infiltration and inflow (I/I) reduction project in the Skyway drainage basin (unincorporated King County). This project will test the cost-effectiveness of I/I reduction of a scale large enough to potentially offset the need for larger conveyance or storage facilities.

South Treatment Plant improvements

King County has a number of projects at the South Treatment Plant in Renton to improve system reliability, increase efficiency and ensure continued compliance with permits. Projects include replacing outmoded control system software, replacing pumps and relining pipes and tanks
