York pump station standby generator project

Completed summer 2006

Exterior of York pumpstation

York Pump Station, at 14120 NE 124th Street in Redmond, was built in 1992. It handles about 10 million gallons per day of wastewater. The York Pump Station receives wastewater from the 72-inch diameter Northeast Lake Sammamish interceptor. Wastewater flow is pumped through two force mains (30- and 48-inch diameter) to the north end of the Eastside interceptor and then to the South Treatment Plant in Renton. The service area includes northern Pine Lake Plateau, Lake Hills and Redmond

To protect public health and the environment and ensure safe and reliable operations, the Wastewater Treatment Division upgraded the York Pump Station facilities.

Construction of three standby generators at York Pump Station began in March 2005 as was completed summer 2006. The generators enhance safety and reliability by insuring a backup power source in the event of a power outage.
