U.S. Green Bulding Council
"The Council is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work." As a member, King County employees have access to a clearinghouse of green building-related information on emerging trends, policies, and products, including product databases, case studies, staff papers, directories, and other resources. Downloadable resources in the member's only area include the Sustainable Building Manual which includes sections on local governments, examples, material specifications, and LEEDT rating system resources. The member's products and services page has many links to relevant Web sites for information. King County employees may contact The Research Center for the password.

American Institute of Architects. Environmental Resource Guide
An extensive volume of in-depth life-cycle analysis reports on a wide variety of building components. Reports present information both by material and by application, including life-cycle flow charts and tables listing environmental stressors by phase (e.g. material acquisition and preparation; manufacturing and fabrication; construction, use and maintenance; recycling, reuse or disposal.) Also includes case studies of several green buildings.

The Architectural Resource Guide
The Architectural Resource Guide (ARG) helps specifiers and purchasers make more ecological and resource-efficient decisions with sustainable, less polluting, local and recycled building products. It is organized by the Construction Specifications Institute numbering system which roughly follows the standard sequence of building. Each division offers an introduction on green building practices followed by database listings of materials, manufacturers, distributors and comments. There is also a recommended reading list. More than a handbook, this book is an encyclopedia of water conservation methods and equipment in buildings, landscapes, and beyond. In addition to technologies, there is a focus on the strategies needed to design policies and programs to achieve water conservation goals.
