Renewable Energy Policy Project/Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology The goal of the Renewable Energy Policy Project/Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (REPP-CREST) is to accelerate the use of renewable energy by providing credible information, insightful analysis, and innovative strategies amid changing energy markets and mounting environmental needs. The combined REPP-CREST organization has a strong platform for research, publication, and dissemination of timely information regarding sustainable energy. REPP-CREST's software and Internet services provide access to a broad range of topics, including innovative public policy reports generated by REPP-CREST, interactive media, renewable energy success stories, and informative on-line discussion groups. Tools on this Web site include an interactive Community Calendar and the Global Energy Marketplace (GEM). Rocky Mountain Institute The Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) is a think tank and advocacy organization that is leading the way in energy efficiency and environmental design. Sustainable Buildings Industry Council The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the design, affordability, energy performance, and environmental soundness of residential, institutional, and commercial buildings nationwide. SBIC offers professional training courses, Web-based classes, consumer education, and energy analysis tools. The SBIC Web site provides accurate, easy-to-use guidelines, software, and general information about energy conservation measures, energy efficient equipment and appliances, daylighting, and sustainable architecture. The Council is also active in presenting workshops and seminars geared toward improving building energy performance in cities and towns throughout the nation. Sustainable Products Purchasers Coalition (Acrobat PDF) The Coalition's primary goal is to aggregate its members' purchasing power to demonstrate to manufacturers that there is a strong and vocal community of purchasers that buy sustainable products and are seeking reliable, standardized environmental data on sustainable products. Through its Web site, the SPPC will publish the total aggregate purchasing power and create a forum for members to discuss sustainable products. A current goal is to develop a new Webtool that would allow users, both manufacturers and members, to import their LCA data, and generate a table of LCA results using any and all methods that are available in published form.
