About your Landscape Advisors

Kristi McClelland, Landscape Advisor

Kristi McClelland
Kristi brings a sense of humor and over 30 years of forestry experience to King County: the first 8 years managing forestland and the next 16 assisting public and private forest land managers in complying with forest rules and regulations for Washington Department of Natural Resources, and the last 8+ years working in the King County Forestry Program helping landowners with forest stewardship plans, fire prevention planning and a host of other services. Kristi is committed to helping landowners sustain working forestlands. She believes management decisions impact all the interrelated natural resources and should support healthy ecosystems while contributing to a viable economy. She and her family live in Preston and are actively involved in scouting, hiking and volunteering.

Greg Rabourn, Landscape Advisor

Greg Rabourn
Greg Rabourn's passion for native plants collided with his dislike of mowing many years ago. He has been practicing and preaching about native plant gardening, habitat restoration, weed destruction and low maintenance landscaping techniques ever since. Greg is co-host of KCTV's gardening show Yard Talk. Greg answers callers questions weekly guest for the Greendays Gardening Panel, a popular call-in radio show on KUOW, 94.9 FM. Greg was the primary photographer and author of the award winning website Northwest Native Plant Landscaping Guide. For twelve years, he organized volunteers to dig up native plants from sites scheduled for clearing through the King County Native Plant Salvage Program.
