King County Adopted Shoreline Master Program

Below is King County's approved Shoreline Master Program. The program does not take effect until approved by the Department of Ecology.

The Shoreline Master Program includes policies, regulations and plans that manage the shorelines within King County’s jurisdiction. The Shoreline Master Program will be incorporated into the King County Comprehensive Plan.

Shoreline Management Regulations

Shoreline Management Regulations (Acrobat, 906 KB)
The Shoreline Management Regulations includes code amendments specific to shoreline land use and permitting. The Regulations also include amendments to other King County Code sections including critical areas regulations that are relied upon by King County for purposes of complying with the Shoreline Management Act.
