2005 Update:1. WRE Phase I Modeling report was completed and is available for download from our website; see project documents. 2. Water Quality monitoring was completed this summer. No changes in the environmental indicators and no detections of any organics or endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs). 3. The Island-wide water survey was started in September with another round in December. This survey will continue in 2006. 4. The installation of our dedicated monitoring wells is completed. Six (6) wells have been installed at various locations:

5. Gaging activity continues around the island. Look up Vashon-Maury Island gage data, now available on our website. 2004 Update:1. Stream gaging activities have increased. VMI now has 6 stream gauging sites up from 3. Island-wide base flows measurements were done at 21 locations in April and September. 2. Precipitation monitoring/gages has also increased this year. Three additional locations have been installed for a total of four sites on VMI. 3. Groundwater monitoring was completed during May and June this year. The Groundwater Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) has changes scheduled for next year (2005); see project documents. 4. New Geologic mapping for Vashon-Maury Island was completed by University of Washington / GeoMap NW staff. An updated susceptibility map was done by Derek Booth et al. Derek B. was involved in the initial process of VMI susceptibility mapping and was able to update this work with new and additional data. 5. Critical Aquifer Recharge Areas (CARA) were defined into 3 categories across VMI. The new categories were remapped as a result of new geologic and water level data. 6. VMI Phase I groundwater model built. 7. WRIA 15 / Vashon watershed planning process is on-going. Susan Oxholm is the contact person for King County involvement in WRIA 15 planning.
