Staff from the Forestry Program are available to speak to groups about the importance of forests in King County. To request a speaker, please contact Kathy Creahan, Forestry Program Manager.

Training and technical assistance are offered for forest landowners and those who live in or near forests.

  • Wildfire presents a threat to rural communities. King County foresters are available for free neighborhood consultation sessions on forest fire safety and community emergency response planning.
  • Forest through the treesThe Fall 2011 class in Forest Stewardship Coached Planning (external link) in Preston has started. The course is offered through the WSU Extension Puget Sound Forest Stewardship Program.
