Sustainable Forestry in King County, Washington

The King County Forestry Program is a part of the Forest Outreach Network, which represents a variety of agencies and organizations concerned about the loss of forestland in King County.

Staff from the Forestry Program are available to speak to groups about the importance of forestland and urban forests in King County. To request a speaker, please contact Kathy Creahan, Forestry Program Manager.

Wildfire presents a threat to rural communities.  Staff foresters are available for neighborhood consultation sessions regarding fire safety.

Grants and technical assistance are available for youth forestry education through the Natural Resource Stewardship Network.

Continuing education for forest landowners and others is offered in conjunction with WSU Extension. Workshops* are offered periodically throughout the year.
