Chronic erosion and over-steepening of the McCoy-Breda levee along the right bank of the Green River between River Mile 25.6 and 25.9 was repaired in 1996. The repair relied on in-water placement of a series of 75 LWD flow deflectors and reconstruction of the levee face with layers of live willow cuttings placed between fabric protected fill layers. Over the past seven years the site has produced a vigorous cover of overhanging vegetation and a complex array of microhabitats associated with the instream LWD structures.
