Approaches to the cleanup

The Lower Duwamish Water Feasibility Study released in October 2010 outlines and evaluates alternative methods for cleaning up contaminated sediments in a 5-mile portion of the Lower Duwamish Waterway. It sets forth 11 alternatives for reducing health risks to achievable levels with different tradeoffs.

For specific information about each alternative, view restoring the waterway, and learn about principles for effective cleanup.

The graph below shows the different levels of benefits identified and the cost of each alternative.
