Cleaning up the Lower Duwamish

How we can restore the waterway

King County and its partners began defining a strategy to clean up the waterway’s sediments in 2000 - prior to the waterway being listed as a Superfund site. Together with regulators and the community, King County is continuing work to reduce risks to fish, wildlife and people who use the Lower Duwamish for recreation and net fishing.
