The charts on this page show data about annual market activity since 1999. Acitivity in the TDR market generally follows the trends of new development projects and real estate activity. Market data from 2008 will be added to these charts in early 2009.

TDR Transactions

The charts below are derived from all TDR transacitons since the inception of the program in 1999. (See all TDR sales data in tabular format.)

This chart shows the number of transactions since 1999. A "transaction" occurs whenever a TDR changes hands from an owner to a buyer. Most transactions involve more than one TDR.

The chart below shows the number of TDRs changing ownership each year since 1999. A TDR buyer does not necessarily need to use the TDR at a receiving site project, so the numbers below may not accurately reflect additional units resulting from TDRs.

TDR Prices

The last TDR transaction occurred in November 2007, in which Rural TDRs sold for just over $26,000, or ~$13,000 for each additional unit in urban receiving areas.
