April is packed with family-friendly activities across King County where everyone can learn how easy it is to practice being "green" year 'round.
King County's annual Earth Day Expo
It's easy being green, let King County show you how! Join us April 22 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Westlake Plaza in downtown Seattle, to learn easy ways to recycle, green up your ride, volunteer, reduce your carbon footprint and make your home and garden more earth friendly. At 11 a.m., the Green Globes, King County’s most prestigious environmental awards, will be presented to leaders in environmental stewardship. Featured activities and educational opportunities for children include an activity corner and appearance by Bert the Salmon.
2009 Green Globe Awards will take place during our Earth Day Expo. The Green Globe award is the most prestigious environmental award presented by King County every 2 years. For more information visit: Help us mulch, weed, or pot up trees.
Restoration projects are focused on restoring stream and wetland buffer habitats for fish and wildlife. Potted up plants are grown at the nursery for future projects. Volunteer efforts have been and continue to be critical to the success of our restoration projects. Northwest Natural Yard Days - April 15 - May 15, 2009
