July 11, 2012 Work out while kids play! King County’s Marymoor Park features new ‘MOMentum’ gymParks works with group promoting healthy activities for new moms, installs innovative exercise equipment next to playgroundNew outdoor exercise equipment will soon be available for use by parents when their children play right next door in a playground area at King County’s Marymoor Park near Redmond.
The equipment consists of five pieces designed to help strengthen arms, legs, core, and aerobic function. The outdoor gym pieces face new playground equipment designed for toddlers.
Cost of the playground and exercise equipment was shared between King County Parks’ capital budget and a donation from MOMentum, a new company founded in 2011 by mothers Paige Dunn and Kelly Singer.
A dedication ceremony for the new exercise equipment at Marymoor is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., adjacent the playground next to the Parking Lot K.
In addition to a ribbon-cutting ceremony, there will be free activities for the family, including demonstrations on the equipment, guided fitness classes and healthy snacks.
More information about the playground installation is available by contacting Butch Lovelace, 206-263-6267. More information about MOMentum is available by contacting Singer at 206-604-3456.
