King County urges caution on rivers that are high, swift, cold from big mountain snowpack
With a forecast for warm and sunny weather over the next several days and a significantly greater-than-average mountain snowpack, King County officials are urging recreational river users to be extremely careful when heading out onto area rivers during late spring’s improving weather.

Pavement, other improvements coming to East Lake Sammamish Trail in Issaquah
Upgrades are coming to King County’s East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) through Issaquah, including removing the existing gravel trail and constructing a 12-foot-wide asphalt trail with gravel shoulders, installing concrete sidewalk connections, retaining walls, fencing and signage, plus wetland mitigation planting and landscaping.

Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and King County Parks celebrate Duthie Hill Park completion
After more than three years and 12,000 hours of volunteer labor, the final phase of construction at King County’s Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park in Issaquah is slated to be finished by June– just in time for Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance’s annual Mountain Bike Festival, June 8-9. The festival is open to the public and is free.

Wastemobile in Renton May 25-27, offers free and easy household hazardous waste disposal
All King County and city residents can safely dispose of old car batteries, oil, paint and other household hazardous waste items when the Wastemobile comes to Renton, May 25-27. The Wastemobile will be in the Fred Meyer parking lot at 365 Renton Center Way, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
