Cedar Hills Landfill neighbors invited to Oct. 25 meeting with King County

King County has been meeting with neighbors of the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill for more than 25 years in order to keep them apprised of landfill activities and to offer them an opportunity to provide feedback and share ideas for improving operations.

The next community meeting is set for Oct. 25, from 7-9 p.m. at the King County Library Service Center, 960 Newport Way NW, Issaquah.

Hosted by the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks’ Solid Waste Division, the community meeting agenda includes:

  • An update on operational activities, plus construction and environmental management activities at the landfill; and
  • An update on Bio Energy Washington’s landfill gas-to-energy plant.

The Cedar Hills Regional Landfill community meetings provide an ongoing forum for area residents and King County Solid Waste Division staff to discuss conditions and activities at the landfill. Meetings occur twice a year, or more frequently as needed.

More information is available at http://your.kingcounty.gov/solidwaste/facilities/cedar-hills-meetings.asp, or by calling 206-296-4490; TTY Relay: 711. Call the same number at least one week in advance of the meeting to request accommodations for people with disabilities.
