A damaged pipe carrying highly treated and disinfected effluent from King County's Brightwater Treatment Plant to the York Pump Station in Redmond overflowed into a parking area near railroad tracks in Woodinville on Wednesday afternoon.
The Woodinville Water District contacted King County's Wastewater Treatment Division around 1:40 p.m. to report an overflow near the Woodinville Pump Station, located at 12900 Woodinville-Duvall Rd.
County employees responded quickly and were able to stop the overflow by approximately 3 p.m. The overflow contained no raw sewage.
Emergency crews will be working to repair the system tonight. There will be no traffic disruptions associated with these repairs.
Staff performed sampling and analysis of the overflow and notified regulatory agencies about the overflow. No waterbody was affected.
