June 7 workshop offers tips to horse owners for creating efficient property layouts

Learn how to site and organize your horse property to help you complete your chores in the most efficient way possible at a free workshop, June 7, in Fall City.

Presented by Alayne Blickle from Horses for Clean Water and sponsored by King County, the workshop will help participants choose different drainage options, footing materials, optimal locations for facilities and more.

Blickle will show horse owners how to make their barn mud-free and easy to care for – summer or winter. Whether on an established farm or on a new property, Blickle’s tips will make horse owner’s lives easier.

Horses for Clean Water, a program that promotes environmentally sensitive horse-keeping by offering education on manure management, mud reduction, pasture improvements, and eco-friendly horse facilities.

This workshop is also sponsored by Stewardship in Action, a partnership consisting of horse owners, neighbors, farmers, forest owners, nonprofit and government agencies working together to help rural landowners overcome the challenges of caring for their land in the Raging River and Patterson Creek watersheds.
