June 10, 2010 Culvert replacement project means two-week detour on King County’s Sammamish River Trail
Beginning next week, users of King County’s Sammamish River Trail in Woodinville will have to follow a 300-foot-long detour route for roughly two weeks while the city installs a new culvert underneath the trail.
Expected to begin on June 17, the detour will take trail users around the project site, which is located just south of Northeast 175th Street. Bicyclists will be required to dismount and walk their bikes along the detour route.
The detour is necessary to allow the City of Woodinville to install a new 48-inch culvert from Wilmot Park to the Sammamish River.
One of King County’s most popular trails, the Sammamish River Trail runs 10.9 miles along the Sammamish River from Bothell to Marymoor Park in Redmond as part of the “Locks to Lakes Corridor.”
