Try King County’s EcoCool Remodel Tool at Green Festival, Saturday and Sunday in Seattle

Stop by King County’s booth at the second-annual Green Festival this Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, and learn simple ways to green up your next home building project. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Washington State Trade and Convention Center in Seattle.

King County’s “It’s Easy Being Green” booth will provide an interactive experience for visitors: The EcoCool Remodel Tool. This tool allows you to take a tour through a virtual house and find ways to green up your next home remodeling project.

By using the EcoCool Remodel Tool, users can find tips and resources ranging from selecting healthy paint products, to what should be considered when replacing a furnace, upgrading your kitchen or landscaping your yard. Green home remodeling creates healthy, comfortable spaces that can save you money, increase your home's value and help protect the environment.

Green Festival visitors can learn more about EcoCool remodeling at a special seminar offered by Patti Southard, King County GreenTools Program Manager, on Sunday March 29, at 2 p.m. in the Green Home Pavilion.

Southard will be joined by Matt Freeman Gleason of ecohaus, a green-building products company based in Seattle. The pair will offer simple strategies, technical information and product ideas for greening a room or yard to tackling whole house projects.

After attending the seminar, visitors can go to King County’s booth and test their newly acquired green-building skills on the EcoCool Remodel Tool.
