Learn about King County’s green team at the Women in Trades Career Fair, March 27

Visit the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks booth at the 30th annual Washington Women in Trades Career Fair on Friday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Seattle Center Fisher Pavilion. Admission is free.

Visitors can explore the variety of environmental careers that are available with DNRP's award-winning green team. Department representatives will be available to provide information and answer questions about the careers with DNRP that foster environmental stewardship and strengthen communities.

As the "green" economy grows, so do opportunities for work in green construction and trades. King County's Equity and Social Justice Initiative and the King County Climate Change Team have a series of joint goals to address how King County as a leading green government can develop work opportunities for people of all employment skill levels.

The fair will feature more than 80 exhibits full of recruiters, employers and apprenticeship programs. Fairgoers will also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities, including climbing utility poles and operating power tools.

Legendary Rosie the Riveters – women who worked in factories as part of the United States’ effort to win World War II – will also be on hand to meet with fairgoers about their experiences.
