Open house set Aug. 20 for public review of King County’s Foothills Trail project

King County Parks is initiating the design and construction of a one-mile segment of the Foothills Trail, formerly known as the Enumclaw Plateau Trail.

King County has scheduled an open house for Aug. 20 in Enumclaw where the public can learn more about the Foothills Trail project, which will be built along a county-owned right-of-way.

The open house will be at the Enumclaw Fieldhouse, also known as Pete’s Pool, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Interested citizens will have an opportunity to review the preliminary design drawings for the trail and ask questions of King County Parks project management staff.

The trail segment begins at 252nd Avenue South, just outside and south of the Enumclaw city limits, and continues along a former railroad route to its terminus, just north of Mud Mountain Road.

More information on the trail project is available at www.kingcounty.gov/foothillstrail.
