Shop Westlake, Roosevelt Square Whole Foods Markets July 10 and support King County Parks
When you shop at Whole Foods Market stores at Westlake and Roosevelt Square this Thursday, July 10, you’re not only shopping at the world’s largest retailer of natural and organic foods, but you’re also supporting King County Parks – Your Big Backyard.
This Thursday, Whole Foods Market will donate 5 percent of sales from their Westlake and Roosevelt Square stores to the King County Parks Legacy Fund. The donation will help King County Parks continue to be a nationally acclaimed provider of amenities and recreational facilities for the community.
“King County Parks is honored to have this partnership with Whole Foods Market,” said Parks Division Director Kevin Brown. “We are committed to providing the kinds of amenities where families can come together for exercise, recreation and fun, and the generosity of Whole Foods Market will help us fulfill that commitment.”
“Whole Foods Market loves supporting our community and King County Parks truly represents the quality of life that makes the area one of the most livable in the world,” said Whole Foods Market’s Mary Moon Hernandez. “Whole Foods Market is thrilled to support King County’s vast parklands, open spaces and trails with this 5 Percent Day.”
Whole Foods Market’s donation will go toward the King County Parks Legacy Fund, which is being developed to provide a long-term safety net for parks and open space in King County.
The King County Parks Legacy accepts donations via the Northwest Parks Foundation, and gifts help support parks and open space in King County. Gifts, bequests and donations from individuals, and businesses are a great way to leave a legacy that impacts our region's future.
Gifts that preserve open space, provide new amenities or ensure ongoing support for a specific facility or program are tangible ways of making a difference now and in the future. All gifts are used only for parks purposes.
Brown said the partnership with Whole Foods Market is the latest example of King County Parks’ commitment to finding new ways of bringing additional amenities to the parks and trails systems without adding costs.
