Dec. 19, 2008 King County’s solid waste transfer facilities to close at 4 p.m.
King County's solid waste transfer facilities will close at 4 p.m. today due to continuing severe winter weather conditions. Weather permitting, facilities are scheduled to reopen with regular Saturday hours, Dec. 20.
All transfer stations except for Enumclaw and Vashon would open at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow. Enumclaw and Vashon open at 9 a.m. Drop boxes at Cedar Falls and Skykomish also open at 9 a.m.
The Houghton Solid Waste Transfer Station in Kirkland is already closed. Customers there are being diverted to the Factoria Transfer Station in Bellevue at 13800 SE 32nd Street.
