‘It’s easy being green’ with King County’s help at IKEA’s Environmental Fair, April 19-20

Bring the family for a weekend full of fun, environmental, educational activities and discover how it is easy being green at King County's educational booth at IKEA's Environmental Fair, April 19-20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the IKEA store in Renton.

This year's fair is full of activities and personalities, including local gardening personality Ciscoe Morris on Saturday at 2 p.m. This free, two-day event blends IKEA's gardening and earth days with government agencies plus groups and businesses that encourage green practices.

King County's booth will provide an interactive experience with county experts and hands-on demonstrations on how easy it is to: recycle, green-up your ride, volunteer, reduce your carbon footprint and make your home and garden greener.

The booth will also feature special discounts and incentives for green products, plus tips on connecting to the many Earth-friendly resources that King County offers.

Bring used electronics and appliances to the Total Reclaim collection truck and recycle your items for a small fee. Recycle kitchen appliances, such as dishwashers, stoves, refrigerators and freezers, and receive a coupon for $50 off a new IKEA appliance, many of which are Energy Star qualified. Limit three coupons per customer.
