Celebrate the homecoming of local salmon during King County’s 2007 Fall for Salmon series

Commemorate the return of local salmon in King County's streams and rivers by observing and volunteering during the many opportunities at the 2007 Fall for Salmon series.

Be sure to not miss nature at its finest as chinook, sockeye coho, pink and chum salmon return home to their local spawning grounds. There are several locations across King County to view this annual homecoming.

For example, there's a great close-up salmon-viewing opportunity at the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery during this year's Issaquah Salmon Days Festival, Oct. 6-7. A detailed listing of festival features is available at www.salmondays.org.

The Fall for Salmon series also highlights a number of volunteer opportunities to improve salmon habitat around King County. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to help restore surroundings and keep track of salmon as they make their way upstream.
