Visit the King County Fair this weekend for great food, fun and entertainment

There's still plenty to see, do and eat at the King County Fair in Enumclaw, which wraps up its 145th year this Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday are full of attractions, including the famous racing pigs, with four exciting races each day; Midway rides and a new kiddie rides section; a kids' tractor pull, where kids can use the power of their legs to pull trailers along a course; plus magicians, hypnotists, balloon artists and more.

Traditional fair food is plentiful, including hot scones with jam, onion burgers, barbecued chicken and beef, roasted corn, scones and plenty of newer classic treats, such as alligator, frog legs, sweet potato fries and deep-fried Coke.

A beer garden is open to everyone 21 and older. Proceeds from the beer garden, which is staffed by 2008 firefighter calendar models, benefit the Washington State Council of Firefighters' Burn Foundation.

Saturday is Family Day at the fair, when a family of four can come have a full day of fun for just $20 (maximum two adults).

Saturday's headline musical performers are The Dusty 45s. Including some of Seattle's top roots/rockabilly musicians, the Dusty 45s were voted "Best of Seattle" by Seattle Weekly readers three years in a row, and take to the South Stage at 8 p.m.

Sunday's entertainment line-up includes great rock-n-roll from Hell's Belles, the self-proclaimed "premier all-female AC/DC tribute act." This popular local group cranks out all the classic AC/DC hits beginning at 6 p.m. on the South Stage.

This year's King County Fair comes to a crashing conclusion on Sunday with a car roll-over contest and demolition derby, beginning at 4 p.m.

Drivers in the roll-over competition will vie for the top prize of $300 for the ride that completes the most rolls. The demolition derby features a number of competitors with one object: Stop every other car in the arena and take home the top prize of $1,000. Tickets to the motorized mayhem are $15 for adults, $10 for kids and seniors, and include admission to the fair on Sunday.

Admission to the fair is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 62 and older and for children ages 6 to 12. Kids under the age of 6 are free when accompanied by an adult.
