Everyone’s invited to ‘Dance to the Moo-Sic,’ at the 145th annual King County Fair, July 18-22 in Enumclaw

From nonstop live entertainment, new Midway rides and classic food favorites, to livestock and grange displays, education booths and a great variety of other signature events and activities, the King County Fair celebrates its 145th birthday this year with an exciting lineup of family-friendly attractions.

The oldest fair west of the Mississippi kicks off at high noon on Wednesday, July 18 with the annual Critter Crowning Contest and features a great lineup of royal hopefuls, including a pair of California newts, a rooster, a goose and more. A panel of judges will select the top critter, which will be crowned by King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn and will represent the King County Fair for the following year.

"The King County Fair has remained close to its roots as a great family-oriented event, and the annual critter crowning contest is just the first in a long list of fantastic entertainment opportunities," said Fair Manager Sharon Roberts.

Part of the attraction of the fair is the nonstop entertainment, including the famous racing pigs, with four exciting races each day; a kids' tractor pull, where kids can use the power of their legs to pull trailers along a course; plus magicians, hypnotists, balloon artists and more.

There's also a great variety of food for fair patrons, including a new Southern-themed vendor featuring alligator, plus all the traditional favorites, such as onion burgers, corn-on-the-cob, hot scones and lemonade.

Headlining the fair's concert series this year is country star and Spanaway native Jonathan Harris, who performs on the fair's South Stage Friday, July 20 at 8 p.m.

Other evening entertainment acts scheduled for the King County Fair's South Stage include:
