Sims to get Master Builders' ‘Built Green' advocate award

King County Executive to address Built Green Conference, March 16

King County Executive Ron Sims will receive the inaugural Built Green™; Hammer Award for Public Advocacy from the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish counties at the association's Built Green™; Conference, March 16 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle.

Sims will receive the award and address participants at the conference, then introduce plenary speaker David Johnston. The president of What's Working, an international design and consulting firm specializing in environmental construction technology, Johnston is a leader in the U.S. green building industry.

Sarah Susanka, a nationally-renowned architect and best selling author of The Not So Big House, will be the keynote speaker at the conference and will participate in a book signing.

The Built Green™; Conference is the Northwest's premiere green building conference where industry professionals, government agencies and students will gather to learn about and discuss environmentally friendly residential building and development.

Additional awards will be presented at the conference, including the inaugural presentation of the Built Green™; Hammer Awards to outstanding builders and projects from 2005, and the Built Green™; Pioneer Awards to honor those who have played an integral role in developing the successful program.
