King County’s Marymoor Park Events: Aug. 3-17

From intense athletic tournaments to outdoor movies, festivals and concerts, there is a fun event for everyone at King County’s Marymoor Park.

Venture out to Marymoor Aug. 3-17 and revisit old friends, such as Ferris Bueller and Indiana Jones at a First Tech outdoor movie presentation, or experience Grecian culture and traditions at the Hellenic Northwest Festival.

August 9 – Open seating at 7 p.m. Movie begins at dusk

First Tech Movies presents "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off"

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of John Hughes' "Brat Pack" classic, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Seating is on the grass, so bring low-backed chairs or blankets. Admission is free and donations are accepted.

August 11 – 7 p.m.
U.S. Bank Concerts at Marymoor presents Nickel Creek
Marymoor Amphitheater

Join three-piece acoustic band Nickel Creek for a night of bluegrass-influenced tunes. Ticket prices are $24.50 for general admission and $34.40 for reserved seating. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

August 12 – Gates open at 10 a.m.
Hellenic Northwest Festival

Experience the culture and traditions of Greece, the Northern Balkans and beyond at the Hellenic Northwest Festival. Sample legendary Greek dishes, participate in a dance workshop and enjoy live music from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $18 for adults, $10 for children under 12 and free for children 2 and younger. Hoop It Up: 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
Recreation Pad

Hosted by Team Championships International, this outdoor three-on-three basketball tournament is as fun for the spectators as it is for the players. Event includes multiple food and merchandise vendors. Deadline to register a team is Aug. 7. For more information, visit www.3on3basketball.com

August 13 – Registration at 8:30 a.m. Event begins at 9:30 a.m.
Marymoor R/C Club Electric Fly-In
Ed Sand Memorial Airfield

Join the Marymoor Radio Control Club as they create flying displays involving all types of electric-powered model places. First Tech Movies presents "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

See how it all began. Watch Indiana Jones whip it up in his cinematic debut, "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Seating is on the grass, so bring low-backed chairs or blankets. Admission is free and donations are accepted.

August 7, 9, 14 and 16
Monday and Wednesday Night Racing
Group Health Velodrome

The Monday and Wednesday Night Racing series develops bike racers for the Friday Night Racing series, presented by Group Health. The Monday series is designed for juniors and new bike racers, while the Wednesday series offers masters-only races. Spectator admission is free. Racing starts at 7 p.m. on Mondays, and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. For more information, visit http://www.velodrome.org/mva/.

Group Health Friday Night Track Racing
Group Health Velodrome

The Group Health Friday Night Track Racing series, "The Show," is thrilling action for racers and spectators alike. World-class cyclists compete under the lights, while family and friends picnic on the lawn or enjoy the view from the stands. The traditional "Kiddie Kilo" happens the first and third Fridays of each month. Spectator admission is $4 for adults and free for kids 16 and under.
