With big names and big talent dotting the 2006 US Bank Concerts at Marymoor lineup throughout, the fourth season of outdoor summer concerts at King County's Marymoor Park has clearly found its groove.
Featuring such diverse artists as INXS, Ziggy Marley, Rob Thomas, Widespread Panic, Nickel Creek, John Hiatt, and Los Lonely Boys, along with the inaugural KMTT Mountain Music Fest, the 2006 edition of the summer outdoor series has concert promoter Dave Littrell of the Lakeside Group energized for the coming season.
"We are genuinely excited with this year's lineup. It is the most diverse, and easily the best so far," said Littrell. "With KMTT, the Mountain, as our media sponsor, this is bound to be the best year yet for the U.S. Bank Concerts at Marymoor. King County's Marymoor Park has become one of the favorite regional venues not only for local music fans, but for the national artists who play here."
"Wow, this is a great lineup that will only add to the growing reputation of the US Bank Concerts at Marymoor," said King County Parks Director Kevin Brown. "We are thrilled to once again to provide this great concert venue at one of our most beautiful regional parks and couldn't be more pleased with the lineup the Lakeside Group and House of Blues Concerts have put together."
Tickets to the US Bank Concerts at Marymoor shows go on sale this Saturday, April 29 at 9 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets and online at ticketmaster.com. Tickets to the previously announced, season-opening INXS concert, set June 3, are already on sale.
KMTT's 1st annual Mountain Music Fest, set Aug. 19, will feature Carbon Leaf and Shawn Mullins among others. Two different artists will play two shows – Widespread Panic (July 14-15) and String Cheese Incident (Aug. 1-2).
In its first three seasons, the amphitheater at King County's historic Marymoor Park in Redmond established itself as a first class concert venue, attracting such internationally renowned performing artists as Norah Jones, Willie Nelson, Crosby Stills & Nash, Jackson Browne, Tori Amos, Harry Connick Jr., Ringo Starr, The Steve Miller Band and many others. The 2006 series initially offers 12 shows featuring a diverse musical lineup, appealing to a broad audience:
