Sept. 26, 2005 King County issues warning against illegal hunting
2005 Archived News
King County is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying
and notifying authorities of individuals found hunting on King County
Parks-owned property, which is prohibited by law.
"We are seeking cooperation from the public in identifying
individuals who are not only breaking the law but could easily cause
harm or serious injury to residents who live within range of the
properties," said King County Parks Director Kevin Brown. "Fortunately
we haven't had any accidents but with hunting season around the
corner we need to remind people that we do not allow this activity
on any of our properties."
Any inquiries regarding hunting seasons and permits, visit the Washington
Department of Fish and Wildlife at www.wdfw.wa.gov.
If you have questions or want to report suspicious activity at one
of the King County Parks, please call 206-296-4232 or contact the
local sheriff's department. Individuals that witness and would like
to report a hunting violation may also call WDFW's poaching hotline
at 1-800-477-6224.
